Saville Assessment at the British Psychological Society Division of Occupational Psychology Annual Conference 2020
We were delighted to present a four-paper symposium at the British Psychological Society’s Division of Occupational Psychology Annual Conference 2020, which discussed some important aspects of validity.
Throughout this symposium we discussed two key considerations for recruiters:
- Using assessments which forecast overall performance and behaviors that are important for a given role (validity)
- Creating engagement through shorter assessments
In the first paper, research was presented that centered on the factors important to candidates during a selection process. The difficulties of developing short valid assessments and solutions to address these were then discussed. Research data focusing on the validity of the different hierarchies of the Wave model was then explored. Finally, we presented information on a new shorter assessment that maintains the necessary high-validity items.
